Daniel Jeremia Natanael Nababan is a social researcher whose work connects environmental governance, climate policy, gender, social inequality, and community resilience. At DEEP EnGender, he contributes to research development, academic publication, data analysis, and the preparation of grant proposals that support the organisation’s commitment to gender justice, ecological sustainability, and inclusive peace.
Trained in sociology and European studies, Daniel brings an interdisciplinary perspective to the relationship between global policy frameworks and lived social realities. His research has examined European Union environmental governance, EU-ASEAN climate relations, gender-responsive disaster risk reduction, child marriage prevention, women’s agricultural labour, and the effects of unequal urban development on marginalised communities.
Daniel combines policy-oriented research with practical experience in research administration and field coordination. His work with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab Southeast Asia included training enumerators in research procedures and ethics and supporting focus group discussions and in-depth interviews for a child marriage prevention study. These experiences strengthened his ability to connect research design, ethical data collection, and locally grounded evidence.
