Nissa Vidyanita is a gender researcher whose work focuses on decolonial theory, racialized ideologies, gender and sexuality, and critiques of dominant narratives. At DEEP EnGender, she contributes to qualitative research, literature analysis, research development, and knowledge production on gender, inequality, and related social issues.

With an academic background in Gender Studies and Cultural Anthropology, Nissa brings an interdisciplinary perspective to the study of how gender norms, racialized perceptions, and social hierarchies are constructed and reproduced within institutions and everyday life. Her research interests include decolonial feminism, culture and sexuality, gendered governance, marriage migration, gender identity, and gender bias in education.

Nissa has developed practical research experience through collaborations with institutions including the National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan), the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), and SEAMEO CECCEP. Her work has included qualitative data analysis, systematic coding, thematic and narrative analysis, media monitoring of femicide cases, research on gender and bias in early childhood education, and the development of analytical reports and data visualisations.

Her academic and research work is grounded in a commitment to critical and socially engaged knowledge production. She is particularly interested in connecting feminist and decolonial scholarship with research, advocacy, and policy engagement to better understand and address gender inequality and social injustice.
